Incidents in Yorkshire - April 1940.
This list contains all known aircraft accidents and mishaps in Yorkshire during the months of 1940. Many incidents in this period were on and around airfields and only minor damage was sustained in the main. This was also before many of the airfields were a solid surface, the early grass runways were still being used. A small number are contained on the main section to my website and are linked in accordingly. It will be seen that as the War progressed the monthly losses rate increased dramatically. It will be noticed that the information available on many of these incidents is pretty vague, research is on-going. I doubt many have ever been researched previously.
