Halifax W7745 at Topcliffe airfield.
On night of 25th / 26th June 1942 this 102 Squadron aircraft was to have been flown on an operational flight to bomb Bremen and was ready with it's crew inside waiting on the perimeter track to take off when it had to allow another aircraft to pass. The pilot of this aircraft turned off the concrete perimeter track but the aircraft's tail wheel ran into a hole on the side of the perimeter track, the tail wheel assembly then broke as the aircraft moved.
