Blenheim V5429 at Catfoss airfield.

On 10th January 1942 this aircraft overshot on landing at Catfoss, the aircraft was damaged but later repaired.

Blenheim V5429 was built to contract 1485/39 by Rootes Securities Ltd. at Blythe Bridge as a fighter version and was awaiting collection in October 1940. Two months later it was taken on charge by 248 Squadron at Sumburgh and it remained with them until the unit converted to Beaufighter MkIc's in July 1941 when the aircraft was transferred to 2 (C)OTU at Catfoss. On 10th January 1942 it is listed as sustaining Cat.B/FA damage in the records and it was repaired (but at an unknown location). It next appears serving with 404 Squadron at Dyce in the middle of 1942 and remained with them until the unit converted to Beaufighter MkIIf's in September 1942. The aircraft was transferred to 301 FTU at Lyneham and then onto 1 OADU at Portreath. On 30th August 1943 the aircraft was transferred to the Portuguese Air Force and after this no further information is known.
