On 30th January 1942 this No.6 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit aircraft is listed in the unit records as being damaged on landing causing the undercarriage to collapse, this was almost certainly at their airfield of Thornaby.

Hudson T9407 was built to B.P.C. contract A-67 by the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation at Burbank, California, USA and was transported by sea to the UK, arriving Liverpool in May 1941. It was taken by road to the Lockheed Assembly Division (UK) Ltd. at Speke the same month. After assembly it was passed to 20 MU on 17th October 1941. It was then taken on charge by No.6 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit at Thornaby on 15th November 1941. On 4th December 1941 it was deemed in need of a repair on site, this was made by a team from Cunliffe Owen and it was returned to the unit on 15th December 1941. As a result of the damage sustained on 30th January 1942 Cat.Ac/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was repaired on site. It was returned to No.6 (C)OTU on 5th Aprl 1942 and was later transferred to 279 Squadron at Bircham Newton on 1st September 1942. On 27th November 1942 it crashed on take off at Bircham Newton and was destroyed, Cat.E/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was struck off charge.
