Tiger Moth T6023 off Weighton Lock, Faxfleet.
On 5th January 1942 this 4 E.F.T.S. aircraft took off from Brough airfield at 14.45hrs with an instructor and pupil pilot on board. They were to undertake a basic dual instruction training flight. While the aircraft was in the air a snow shower passed over the airfield. Nothing was seen of the aircraft again. It was assumed that the aircraft had flown into the snow storm and the pilot had become lost. The aircraft probably crashed into the Humber while flying in a blizzard. The bodies of the crew were never recovered. A location suggested was the the aircraft crashed "off Weighton Lock" possibly onto a tidal mud flat. I have not normally included flying accidents in The Humber but have included this as it may be on a tidal mudflat.

Norman Davies received a commission to the rank of P/O on probation on 19th July 1941.
Tiger Moth T6023 was built to contract 20916/39 by The Morris Motor Co. Ltd. at Cowley and was awaiting collection in July 1940. After a lengthy period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 4 E.F.T.S. at Brough. As a result of the crash on 5th January 1942 Cat.E2/FA damage was the assesment.
