Anson N4913 at Finningley airfield.

On 26th January 1942 this 25 O.T.U. overshot on landing at Finningley airfield and received minor damage.

Crew - Names unknown.


Anson N4913 was built to contract 766119/38 by A.V.Roe and Co.Ltd. at Newton Heath and was awaiting collection in November 1938. The aircraft was placed in MU store until being taken on charge by No.1 C.A.C.U. at Gosport on an unknown date in 1939. This unit moved to Thorney Island on 15th September 1939 and then to Detling on 18th May 1940. It returned to MU store before being taken on charge by 25 O.T.U. at Finningley in 1941. As a result of the incident on 26th January 1942 Cat.A/FA damage was the damage assessment and a repair on site was carried out. The aircraft later appeared on charge with 15 (P)A.F.U. at Leconfield in 1942 and moved to Andover with them on 15th December 1942. In 1943 served with 8 (O)A.F.U. at Mona then finally served with the Metropolitan Communications Squadron at Hendon. By 25th May 1950 it had been placed into an MU store and was struck off charge on this date.
