Defiant N3374 at Driffield airfield.
On 27th June 1942 this 1484 Target Towing and Gunnery Flight aircraft landed at Driffield airfield but suffered from the tail wheel assembly breaking causing minor damage.
Pilot - Name unknown.
Defiant N3374 was built to contract 751867/38 by Boulton & Paul Ltd. at Wolverhampton and was awaiting collection in December 1940. It was initially placed into MU store before being taken on charge by 85 Squadron in January 1941 at Debden. The following month it was transferred to 96 Squadron at Cranage and moved to Wrexham with them on 21st October 1941. On an unknown date, but probably in early 1942, he was transferred to 1484 Flight at Driffield. As a result of the damage sustained on 27th June 1942 minor Cat.A/FA damage resulted and it was repaired on site to resume use by 1484 Flight. By late 1943 it was in MU store pending disposal and was struck off charge on 24th December 1943.
