Defiant N1725 at Driffield airfield.
On 8th June 1942 this 1484 (Target Towing) Gunnery Flight aircraft collided with a yellow cone placed on Driffield airfield to indicate the take off point.

Defiant N1725 was built to contract 751807/38 by Boulton & Paul Ltd., at Wolverhampton and was awaiting collection in September 1940. It was taken on charge soon after completion by 141 Squadron at Turnhouse and moved with them to Drem on 15th October 1940, Gravesend on 3rd November 1940 and Ayr on 29th April 1941. 141 Squadron ceased operating Defiant MkI's in August 1941 so the aircraft was placed in MU storage. The date it was taken on charge by No.1484 Target Towing Flight at Driffield on an unknown date. As a result of the damage sustained on 8th June 1942 minor Cat.A/FA damage was the assessment and it was repaired on site and returned to the unit. By June 1943 it had been placed into MU storage and was struck off charge on 14th June 1943.
