On 30th January 1942 this Botha overshot on landing at Brough airfield. The incident is briefly mentioned in the 4 EFTS record book and stated that the pilot had arrived at Brough the previous day due to weather conditions being poor, he then left for Squires Gate by rail after his "attempt to return by air had failed". The aircraft is listed as being damaged while he escaped injury.

Botha L6472 was built to contract 583994/36 by the Blackburn Aircraft Co.Ltd. at Dumbarton and received by 22 MU on 27th October 1941. After a period of MU storage it was taken on charge by No.3 School of General Recconaisance (S.G.R.) at Squires Gate on 23rd March 1941. As a result of the mishap at Brough on 30th January 1942 the damage was assessed as being Cat.B/FA which saw it repaired on site at Brough, at the Blackburns side of the airfield. After completion of repair it was flown back to No.3 School of General Recconaisance. After spells with 12 MU (from 1st June 1942) and 32 MU (from 26th August 1942) it was taken on charge on 7th September 1942 by No.3 R.D.F.A. at Prestwick. In June 1943 the aircraft was converted to Ground Instruction Airframe 3801M and it was struck off charge on 28th June 1944.
