Spitfire AA934 at Catterick airfield.
During the morning of 6th January 1942 this 145 Squadron aircraft was flown on a formation flying exercise and took off from Catterick airfield at 09.50hrs. On landing at Catterick at 10.50hrs the undercarriage was not fully locked down and it then collapsed. The pilot later stated that he was distracted by other landing aircraft.

Once in the UK Maxwell Madady trained at 61 OTU. He was then posted to 122 Squadron on 27th October 1942 and then to 145 Squadron from 122 Squadron on 4th January 1942. The squadron later moved to the middle East. On 26th June 1942 he was shot down and made a PoW.
