At 15.45hrs there was a fire in the engine room of the North Sea Hanger where it was found that a fifteen year old, Mr Jack Hay, received petrol burns. He was first taken to the first aid room in the Blackburn's Aircraft Factory and later transferred to hospital at Beverley where he sadly died in the early hours of the next morning.
