Unidentified Oxford damaged in the air, landed at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield.
On 7th June 1942 this 1520 Beam Approach Training Flight aircraft was being used to give Air Training Corps Cadets of No.208 (Cadet) Squadron some air experience. During one flight the aircraft struck the ground recorded in the unit records as being some sixteen miles from Holme on Spalding Moor airfield. The strike on the ground broke off a foot from each propeller blade but the aircraft remained in the air and the pilot managed to land safely at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield. Where the ground strike occurred is not yet known.

Butcher had been posted to 1520 BAT Flight on 7th November 1941 just after it had formed. he had earlier served as an instructor at 7 BAT Flight.
