Blenheim Z6147 at Church Fenton airfield.
On 19th September 1941 the pilot of this 54 Operational Training Unit aircraft was undertaking a night flying exercise and flew in too low on a night landing, the aircraft
undershot, hit the perimeter hedge and then the aerial of the fire tender before striking the ground in the undershoot area. The wreckage caught
fire but the trainee pilot survived.

Blenheim Z6147 was built to contract B.119994/40 by A.V. Roe & Co. Ltd. at Chadderton and was awaiting collection in January 1941. It was taken
on charge by 54 OTU at Church Fenton on an unknown date and as a result of the accident on 19th September 1941 Cat.E2/FA(Burnt) damage was recorded
and the aircraft was written off.
