Beaufighter X7546 was built to contract B.65570/40 by The Bristol Aeroplane Company Ltd. at their shadow factory at Weston Super
Mare and was awaiting collection in February 1941. After a period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 25 Squadron on 8th May 1941 at Wittering.
As a result of the bad landing at Leconfield on 2nd October 1941 Cat.B/FA damage was recorded and ten days later it was taken
by road to be repaired in works, almost certainly by General Aircraft Ltd. at Hanworth. After repair it was placed into MU storage
for some considerable time and no details are available until the aircraft next appears on charge with 4 Aircraft Delivery Unit
(Middle East) bound for Sorman West in Tunisia. On 27th July 1943 it crashed with Cat.E2/FA recorded when it bounced on landing
at Sormon West and the undercarriage collapsed. It was deemed beyond repair following this incident.
