Tiger Moth T7054 at Yeadon airfield.

On 15th October 1941 this 20 E.F.T.S. aircraft landed on top of Tiger Moth N6464 at Yeadon airfield damaging both aircraft. Both aircraft are believed to have been repaired.

Pilot - Sgt Guy Henry Lane RAFVR (1285578). Uninjured.

Passenger - Name unknown. Uninjured.


Guy Lane received a commission on 18th January 1944 to the rank of P/O on probation (173233) and rose to F/O (War Subs) on 18th July 1944. He remained in the RAF Post-War and left as F/Lt (retaining the rank of F/O) on 2nd August 1955.
Tiger Moth T7054 was built to contract 20916/39 which had been transferred to Morris Motors Ltd. at their Cowley factory and was awaiting collection in December 1940. It was first taken on charge by 12 EFTS at Prestwick on an unknown date in 1941 and later the same year it was transferred to 20 EFTS at Yeadon. As a result of the damage on 15th October 1941 Cat.B/FA was the assessment and it was taken away by road and repaired in works. On completion of the repair in 1942 it was flown into long term MU storage at 46 MU at Lossiemouth. On 11th January 1943 it was transferred to RNDA (Admiralty) at Lossiemouth then four days later it was flown to Lee on Solent. In March 1943 it is listed as being on charge with the Ferry Pool at Donibristle. In September 1943 it was transferred to 755 Squadron FAA at Worthy Down but in December 1943 it was placed into storage at Worthy Down where it remained until being taken on charge by 700 Squadron FAA also at Worthy Down in January 1945. The following month it was returned to storage at Worthy Down. In June 1945 it was taken on charge by No.6 Ferry Pool at Worthy Down briefly as in August 1945 it was returned to storage then returned to the Ferry Pool at Donibristle in December 1945. In August 1947 it was taken on charge by 727 Squadron FAA at Gosport where it received the coding "GP2N". In February 1948 it was placed back into MU storage for disposal. On 13th December 1948 it was struck off charge as RSP (Reduced to spares and produce) and was broken up.
