Tiger Moth N6464 at Yeadon airfield.

On 15th October 1941 Tiger Moth T7054 landed on top of this aircraft damaging both aircraft.

Tiger Moth N6464 was built to contract 778402/38 by The De Havilland Aircraft Co. Ltd. at Hatfield and was awaiting collection in November 1938. It was first taken on charge in early 1939 by 17 E&RFTS at Barton but this unit disbanded on 2nd September 1939 and shortly after this the aircraft was transferred to 10 EFTS at Yatebury. On 18th January 1941 it was taken on charge by the newly formed 17 EFTS at North Luffenham and later the same year it transferred to 18 EFTS at Fairoaks and then on 20 EFTS at Yeadon. As a result of the mishap on 15th October 1941 Cat.B/FA damage was the assessment and it was taken away to be repaired in works. On completion of the repairs it was taken on charge by 29 EFTS at Clyffe Pypard in 1942 and remained with this unit until they disbanded on 5th November 1947, after this the aircraft was placed in long term storage. It was finally struck off charge on 25th May 1950.
