Unidentified Blenheim near Church Fenton airfield.
On 30th August 1941 an unidentified Blenheim was being flown on a training exercise with 54 Operational Training Unit when it suffered an engine failure at low altitude and before the aircraft had climbed to sufficient height for undertaking single engine flying. At 17.00hrs the aircraft was crash landed but the unit ORB does not state the location. It was probably in the Church Fenton area but I need to see the AM Form 1180 to confirm the location. The pilot later served with 515 Squadron and 85 Squadron.
