Unidentified aircraft, landed at Thornaby airfield.

On 26th September 1941 a No.6 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit aircraft was being flown when it made a sudden movement in the air. One member of the crew was in the process of moving into from the cockpit to the area behind and was thrown to the floor, he sustained a double left leg break. The unit was based at Thornaby at the time and appears to have landed there. The injured man was taken to Winterton Hospital at Sedgefield for treatment. No.6 (C)OTU flew Ansons and Hudsons at this period and the aircraft involved was probable one of these types.
