Unidentified Magister at Church Fenton airfield.
At 20.45hrs on 22nd August 1941 an unfortunate accident at Church Fenton airfield saw a member of groundcrew sustained injuries. An unidentified Magister was about to be flown and the pilot was sat in the cockpit awaiting the engine start. A member of groundcrew was stood at the front of the aircraft to swing the propeller to start it. Unfortunately the engine started prematurely, it struck the hand of the member of groundcrew and cut off four of his fingers.
