Whitley N1506 at Driffield airfield, destroyed by enemy action.

Whitley N1506 was destroyed by the enemy action at Driffield airfield on 15th August 1940 while it was parked and bombed.

Whitley N1506 was built to contract 75147/38 by Armstrong Whitworth Ltd. at Baginton. It was awaiting collection on 3rd March 1940 and after a period of MU storage it was taken on charge by 77 Squadron at Driffield in May 1940 as a replacement for another of 77 Squadron lost towards the end of April 1940. It was destroyed in the raid on 15th August 1940 with Cat.W damage being recorded.
