Blackburn B.2 G-ADFO near Bellasize.
On 20th January 1940 this No.4 E.F.T.S. aircraft was being flown on a dual instructional flight that involved the pilot making simulated forced landing approaches. While being flown low in the Bellasize, near Brough, the aircraft suffered engine failure. The pilot made a forced landing on farmland but overshot his selected field and crashed into a hedge.
