On 25th August 1940 this aircraft was parked at Driffield airfield and sustained some damage when an air-raid took place on the station between 01.07hrs and 02.38hrs. It sustained minor 'splinter' damage to the fabric covering of the ailerons and elevators but was repaired with Cat.M almost certainly being recorded. It's identity is not yet known but it would have been returned to service with the unit.
This was the third air raid on Driffield airfield in ten days. The Sergeant's Mess bore the main of the bombs and was left completely destroyed. Driffield's bomber units moved out for a time leaving Driffield to be repaired.
