DH.82A Tiger Moth G-AMLF damaged in the Whitby area.

Believed to have been during 1962 this aeroplane was being flown from an unknown start point south of Whitby towards Woolsington, Newcastle when it ran low on fuel in the Whitby area. A forced landing was made in the Whitby area but the propeller clipped the ground and was broken. No other damage appears to have resulted. The aeroplane was probably repaired on site and flown out. It was owned by the Newcastle upon Tyne Aero Club at the time and was being flown by a club pilot.
