Peter Connon records this incident in his superb book "In the Shadow of the Eagle's Wing, An Aeronautical History of the Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway Region, (Part 2, 1915 to 1930)". No further details are yet known other than the aircraft is listed as sustaining damage at Windermere on 1st April 1916.
