I created this webpage purely so that the record of it exists on my main Lake District air accident listings but as no formal information has yet been released at the time I created the webpage not much is known. The details of this incident come from local media reports. On 17th December 2016 this unidentified Gyrocopter was flying in the area around the northern edge of the Lake Disrict when it suffered a bird strike, in attempting to force land the aircraft the gyrocopter then struck power lines and crashed into a field near Branthwaite in a field near Branthwaite Beck, in the Caldbeck Common area. The two people flying in it sustained injuries and were taken to hospital via the Great North Air Ambulance,
