Unidentified DH.60 Cirrus Moth (possibly) near Silecroft.

Believed to have been on 11th July 1929 I have found a very basic reference stating that a DH.60 Cirrus moth was force landed near Far South Farm, Silecroft. I have not yet obtained any further information surrounding this incident. Silecroft is on the south-western edge of what became the Lake District National Park boundary. Something I would link to this possible incident would be that the King's Cup Air Race took place on 5th / 6th July 1929 and the route took the aircraft on the race up the west coast as part of the route between Blackpool and Renfrew. I would add a note to this webpage that the aircraft may have been landed due to weather or technical trouble as part of the race though I have not yet located anything to confirm this speculation.

Pilot - Name unknown.
