Spitfire BL344 at Catterick airfield.
On 25th January 1942 the pilot of this 145 Squadron aircraft was making his first solo flight in a Spitfire and following a formation exercise he made a heavy landing at Catterick at 12.00hrs that strained the tail unit and stern frame.
