On 27th November 1945 this Central Gunnery School aircraft suffered a broken propeller tip whilst in the air, the tip flew off and passed into the fuselage damaging the hydraulic system. When it came to landing, having no hydraulics the crew were diverted away from their home airfield of Leconfield and to the large crash strip at Carnaby where they made a belly landing.
