Master II W9015 at Finningley airfield.

On 26th June 1945 this Bomber Command Instructor's School aircraft was used to undertake some form of glider towing flight training but the type of glider used is unknown. The unit record book makes no mention of gliders being used by this unit. The pilot appears to have been making a series of practice landings at Finningley airfield but during one landing at 13.00hrs the Master bounced, stalled and a wing hit the ground. The tail wheel was broken off and must have also been further damaged as it was later written off.

Pilot - "W/O W K Bale".
