Halifax VI RG652 at Breighton airfield.

On 23rd May 1945 this 78 Squadron aircraft was flown on a cross country training flight. At 16.53hrs the crew landed at their base at Breighton but the hydraulic jack that pushed the tail wheel into the locked position failed. During the landing the tail wheel collapsed causing minor damage to the aircraft. The AM Form 1180 appears to give the pilot's surname "Fraser" but gives no initials and searching through rather a lot of Frasers within AIR78 in the National Archives is something I have not had a spare week to begin.

Pilot - W/O Fraser RAFVR (1351804).

Four others - Names unknown.
