Halifax VI RG611 at Pocklington airfield.

On 20th July 1945 this 102 Squadron aircraft was flown on a night circuits and landings flying exercise using Pocklington airfield. Having landed at 23.53hrs it was being taxied too fast around the airfield and when the brakes were appllied they overheated then faded. The aircraft ran off the perimeter track and into Halifax PP182 that was unoccupied on a dispersal site. Both aircraft were extensively damaged. RG611 was initially assessed as being repairable with Cat.B/FA damage being the assessment but this was later re-assessed as Re-Cat.E and it was struck off charge on 7th September 1945.
