Halifax VI RG528 at Snaith airfield.

During the morning of 10th June 1945 this 77 Squadron aircraft was used to make a flight over the North Sea to dispose of bombs. The crew attempted to land at Snaith at 09.38hrs after a thirty six minute long flight but the speed was too high, the aircraft bounced and then could not be stopped before it ran off the runway into the overshoot area. The port tyre burst, it then swung and the port undercarriage collapsed.
