Lancaster I RF149 at Skipton on Swale airfield.

At 23.00hrs on 17th July 1945 433 Squadron Lancaster NG459 was being taxied toward a dispersal point at Skipton on Swale airfield after a flight when the brakes failed. The pilot was unable to prevent a collision with 433 Squadron Lancaster RF149 that was stationary and unoccupied. Both aircraft sustained minor damage. RF149 was to be damaged again later in the year.
