Stirling IV PW388 at Marston Moor airfield.

During the morning of 27th August 1945 this 1665 Heavy Transport Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a basic circuits and landings training exercise at Marston Moor airfield. At 10.25hrs the pupil pilot was taxying around the airfield when the brakes failed to slow the aircraft owing to the speed it was being taxied. The tail of the aircraft struck a hedge and minor Cat.Ac/FA damage resulted.
