Lancaster PA272 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 27th August 1945 aircraft that remained within No.6 Group were used to dispose of bombs that were left behind at Linton on Ouse airfield. Aircraft and crews of both 429 Squadron (from Leeming) and 433 Squadron (from Skipton on Swale) were tasked and flew to Linton on Ouse. At 15.00hrs 433 Squadron Lancaster RA511 attempted to taxi past 429 Squadron Lancaster PA272 but there was insuffienct room. Minor damage to both aircraft resulted in the collision.
