Lancaster I NX552 at Leeming airfield.

During the afternoon of 1st June 1945 this 427 Squadron aircraft was flown on a training flight and during the course of flight it passed through a thunderstorm. After landing at Leeming the aircraft was inspected and wrinkling was discovered on the skinning. Cat.Ac/FA damage was the damage assessment and a repair on site was carried out by a team from A.V.Roe, to be returned to 427 Squadron in October 1945.
