Lancaster I NG459 at Skipton on Swale airfield.

During the evening of 17th July 1945 this 433 Squadron aircraft was flown on a night test check of the aircraft. With this complete the crew returned to Skipton on Swale airfield and landed. At 23.00hrs while taxying back to a dispersal point the brakes fails and the pilot was unable to prevent a collision with 433 Squadron Lancaster RF149 that was stationary. Both aircraft sustained minor damage.
