Halifax III MZ950 at Marston Moor airfield.

During the afternoon of 14th August 1945 this 1665 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on what was the pilot's first solo flight in a Halifax. On one of the landings during a circuits and landings exercise at Marston Moor at 20.55hrs the aircraft swung off the runway and toward a hedge. The pilot attempted to deliberately swng the aircraft to avoid the hedge but this failed and the undercarriage collapsed. The aircraft was badly damaged.
