Mosquito DD756 at Croft airfield.

On 3rd October 1945 this No.13 Operational Training Unit aircraft swung to port on landing at Croft airfield. The pilot over-corrected the swung and it then swung off the runway coming to rest with the undercarriage collapsed. The pilot was a Royal Netherlands Navy pilot being given dual training instruction at 13 O.T.U. at the time. He is listed in the 13 O.T.U. record book as being with 320 Squadron at the time, probably undertaking night-fighter conversion training. The damage sustained at Croft on 3rd October 1945 was initially assessed as repairable Cat.B/FA damage but was re-assessed as Re-Cat.E on 25th October 1945 and struck off charge on 1st November 1945.
