On 30th April 1939 this 608 Squadron aircraft was damaged at Thornaby airfield after it swung while taxying downwind and overturned. The aircraft was badly damaged and was not repaired.

Demon K8209 was built to contract 439133/35 by Boulton & Paul at Wolverhampton and was delivered into storage at 1 ASU on 24th November 1937. It was issued to 608 Squadron
in January 1938 and following the mishap above it was deemed beyond repair and struck off charge on 7th May 1939 with Cat.W/FA damage being recorded.
