Whitley K7186.

Information on this incident is lacking and no AM Form 1180 accident card for the incident exists. Suggested by other historians to have occurred on Saturday, 1st July 1939 this aeroplane received damage possibly as the result of a forced landing somewhere, possibly in Yorkshire. It appears to have been in the care of 166 Squadron at the time, as confirmed by the aeroplane's AM Form 78, who were based at Leconfield. Whitley K7186 was converted into a Ground Instructional Airframe 1702M during September 1939, which may suggest this was done after the damage. I would like to see some form of contemporary documentation to prove this incident existed should anyone be able to assist.
