Hawker Hind K6779 at Brough aerodrome.

On 21st May 1939 this No.4 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School aeroplane overshot on landing at Brough, swung on wet grass and ran into a hedge. Damage to the nose and propeller resulted but the crew appear to have escaped injury.

Hind K6779 was built to contract 424397/35 by Hawker Aircraft Ltd and was initially taken on charge by 62 Squadron at Abingdon on 22nd April 1937. On 24th March 1938 it passed to 24 MU at Ternhill before being taken on charge by No.4 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School at Brough on 24th November 1938. It sustained repairable Cat.M/FA damage at Brough on 21st May 1939 and was repaired on site. On 3rd September 1939 it was transferred to No.8 FTS at Montrose and was struck off charge on 29th March 1940.
