Hawker Hind K6633 at Brough aerodrome.

On 7th June 1939 this No.4 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School aircraft undershot on landing at Brough aerodrome and tipped on to is nose. It received minor damage.

Hawker Hind K6633 was built to contract 424397/35 by Hawker Aircraft Ltd and was initially taken on charge by 218 Squadron at Upper Heyford on 30th November 1936. On 30th March 1938 it transferred to 18 Squadron also at Upper Heyford and on 29th June 1938 it passed to 24 MU at Ternhill. On 24th November 1938 it was taken on charge by No.4 Elementary and Reserve Flying Training School at Brough. As a result of a landing accident at Brough on 7th June 1939 Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was repaired on site. On 3rd September 1939 the aircraft was transferred to No.8 F.T.S. at Montrose but the following month it was transferred to No.10 F.T.S. at Ternhill. On 16th April 1940 it was transferred to No.1 F.T.S. at Netheravon but on 22nd April 1940 the engine cut and it overshot a forced landing, hitting a tree near Pucklechurch, Gloucestershire. Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was struck off charge on 2nd May 1940.
