Shorts SD3-60 G-OEEC at Leeds-Bradford airfield.
On Monday, 26th February 1990 there was a fierce gale across the country that killed several people. This aircraft was blown onto a wing tip in the strong wind at Leeds-Bradford airfield, probably whilst parked or perhaps taxying. The incident is mentioned in a Yorkshire Air newsletter but does not suggest it was damaged whilst landing or taking off. At the time of this incident the aircraft was registered to Capital Airlines Ltd, of Leeds-Bradford Airport and was taken into their hanger for a repair. This airline closed down soon after this incident.
