Grob G102 Astir CS BGA.2437 at Marton (probably East Yorkshire).
On Friday, 20th July 1990 the pilot of this glider made several climbs that took the aircraft to 5000 feet. At that height the pilot then became lost and disorientated. He descended and owing to where he found himself (which must have been reasonably near the coast) he had to make a field landing. On his approach to land in the field he misjudged the glider's height and also did not realise that a sea breeze was giving the glider a tailwind. At 16.45hrs the glider then overshot the selected feld and hit a hedge. The location of "Marton, Yorkshire" is given in a Sailplane and Gliding magazine accident summary. There are many Martons in Yorkshire but with the sea breeze being quoted my best guess would be that this is the Marton, north-east of Hull. The glider was repaired and damaged at Sutton Bank in May 1991.
