Schleicher Ka-6 CR BGA.1970 near Long Riston.

During the afternoon of Monday, 28th May 1990 the pilot of this glider had to make a field landing in the Long Riston area. Because several of the fields below contained crops the pilot was left to attempt a landing in a grass field that contained ridge and furrow. The pilot attempted to land along the furrows but a wingtip hit one of the ridges and the glider groundlooped. Minor damage resulted. This glider was registered to the Hambleton Gliding Club in the 1988-87 British Soaring yearbook, whether they still owned it in 1990 is not yet known.
