Hughes 269B G-AVZC near Hemingbrough.
At 18.20hrs on 28th March 1990 this helicopter was being flown at around 700 feet in the Selby area when the engine suffered a total failure. The pilot attempted an immediate landing in a field near the A63 road near Hemingbrough but the helicopter sustained damage. The skids splayed apart twisting the fuselage frames, the main rotor blades flapped down which damaged the tail boom. At the time of this incident the aircraft was registered to LRC Mail Order Ltd, of Huddersfield. The pilot owned the Huddersfield company Land-Rover Centre, almost certainly connected to the helicopter's registered owner. It was possibly based at Crosland Moor airfield.
