Unidentified Schleicher Ka-8 at Burn airfield.
With the weather deteriorating during a flight of this glider on Sunday, 29th July 1990 the pilot was asked to make a crosswind landing at Burn airfield. On the approach to land the glider was hit by a strong gust of wind that blew the glider off the approach line. The pilot was unable to bring the glider back onto the approach line so made a turn for a downwind landing on a different runway. The glider then landed heavily, groundlooped and was damaged.
