Cessna R.182 Skylane RG G-BPUM at Bagby airfield.

At 17.00hrs on 10th July 1989 this aircraft landed at Bagby airfield following a flight from Cambridgeshire but veered off the runway and into a cornfield. One of the main undercarriage legs collapsed but the four people on board escaped injury. At the time of this incident it was registered to Mr William John Bate, of Monmore Green, Wolverhampton.

Pilot - Name unknown.

Three Passengers - Names unknown.

The aircraft was repaired but would crash again on 17th April 1991 at Newmarket when the nose wheel collapsed. It was repaired. During a landing on 30th June 1993 at Farnborough the then pilot could not lower the nose undercarriage leg so landed with it retracted. This was suject to an investigation at Farnborough which discovered problems with the nose wheel undercarriage doors and with the earlier 1991 repair processes.
