Schleicher K-7 Rhonadler BGA.1862 at Pocklington airfield.
During the afternoon of Monday, 31st July 1989 this glider launched with a trainee pilot at the controls and with a rain storm approaching in the distance. The glider climbed and later flew into rain at 800 feet which caused the pilot problems with turbulence. He attempted to fly a circuit of the airfield and to then land but on landing the speed was too great and it bounced, drifted and ground looped. The glider was registered to Wolds Gliding Club who were based at Pocklington at the time. It was later rebuilt and registered as G-DCWJ.
